Group Therapy in San Diego, and Online Throughout California
From the sandy beaches of the Pacific Ocean to the rolling mesas and deep canyons, San Diego is a city of breathtaking, diverse geographic features that are truly one of a kind. However, life on the coast isn’t always picture-perfect. If you’ve experienced abuse, you may find it difficult to embrace all life has to offer. You may find yourself feeling stuck or struggling to overcome the painful experiences that seem to hold you back. While you may feel alone and isolated, healing is possible and the right support can make a dramatic impact.
Deciding to join a support group can be a great first (or next) step in your healing journey. Survivor support can come in many forms, but joining a group of people who have walked through similar situations and can truly understand what you are going through can be a truly transformative experience. Our knowledgeable clinicians aim to help you process your complicated feelings around the relationship and to let go of fear, anger, and grief. We help you to restore faith in yourself and confidence in your decision-making. We also provide tools to recognize unhealthy patterns in the future, and to practice setting and holding boundaries.
Shared Struggles, Shared Strength
Are you feeling isolated by a struggle that others don't fully understand?
Are you coping with a diagnosis of chronic illness or health condition,
or living with different abilities than those around you?
Are you a new mother navigating the waters of your new responsibilities,
new motherhood identity, or postpartum stress and depression?
Have you experienced domestic violence or abuse?
You don't have to face it alone. Other people are facing the same or similar challenges as you are. Group therapy can provide a safe harbor to discuss and explore these topics, without shame or judgement, and with people who truly understand what you're going through. Support groups can help reduce isolation and loneliness by creating a sense of community and validation around a shared experience.
In our groups, we create a safe space for processing grief, anger, uncertainty, and fear. We experience hope through learning about the experiences of others who have walked in our shoes. We increase confidence by creating tools to help manage stress or setbacks, increase communication skills and self-advocacy, and empower motivation and growth through group accountability. Group Therapy can provide a consistent, safe, and welcoming place to walk in community through the challenges we face, and build long-term supportive relationships.
