Group Support for Postpartum Depression in Los Angeles and Online Throughout California
Nurture yourself as you nurture your baby

Because Every Mother Deserves Support.
Bringing a new baby into the world can be a joyful experience, but it can also come with unexpected challenges. Many new moms experience feelings of overwhelm, postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, stress, isolation, self doubt, emotional ups and downs, and partners that do not understand as they adjust to being a new mom. If you are struggling with this or something else, know that you are not alone.
What brings people to a postpartum support group?
Here are some of the things that new mothers may experience:
-
Postpartum anxiety, depression, or intrusive thoughts
-
Birth trauma or difficult delivery experiences
-
Postpartum rage or anger that appears unexpectedly
-
A shifting Identity: adjusting to your new role of motherhood and grieving your "old self"
-
Relationship strain after baby arrives: A new baby changes the dynamic in the home, which can sometimes put strain on your relationship as everyone adjusts to all the changes.
-
Difficulty bonding with the baby: New moms sometimes struggle to find the bond with their child right away, often creating feelings of guilt or feeling like you aren't doing it right.
-
Isolation: Feeling cut off from family and friends, and from your normal routine
-
Overwhelm or Exhaustion: Sleep deprivation can take a major toll on your mood and how you relate to others. Many mothers experience not feeling like themselves after birth.
-
Returning to work: Leaving the baby to return to work can often present new anxiety or guilt.
-
Lacking a village: Some new mothers don't have nearby family or a strong support system. A support group can help provide the village, or add to your existing village.
How We Help
Our Postpartum group provides a supportive space for mothers to connect with others who understand the unique challenges of postpartum. Together we will explore topics such as postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, postpartum psychosis, self care, identity changes, relationship adjustments, stress management, and the emotions that form from the reality of parenting. We want you to feel supported, understood, and empowered as you navigate this transition.

Our postpartum support group can help provide emotional relief. We hold space to discuss things that you might not be comfortable discussing with others. We help you to feel validated in your feelings, and understand that you aren't alone. We create connection and community between people who are in the same phase of life, often leading to long-term friendships. We provide practical support and share real-world coping strategies. We can offer resources and referrals to help navigate specific challenges. Our postpartum support group can help find greater confidence in your parenting decisions, improved mood and reduced anxiety symptoms, better communication with your partner, and healthy coping mechanisms for all the changes that a new baby brings.

Whether you are a first time mom or you are adding to your growing family, you deserve support during this important time of your life.
